From April 2015 it has become a contractual requirements for GP practices to publish on their practice websites, by 31 March 2016, the mean net earnings of the partners, salaried GPs and locum who has worked in the practice for over six months.


“The average pay for GPs working at Garden Surgery in the last financial year 2016/17 was £56,416 before tax and National insurance. This is for 3 full-time GPs and 1 part-time GPs who worked at the practice for more than 6 months”

Community Midwives

Community Midwives provide care to expectant mums, following confirmation of the pregnancy, by the Doctor. She provides care throughout the pregnancy and up to a month following the birth. Patients may also be asked to attend ante natal and/or post natal appointments at the hospital as part of their care

Community Nurses

There is District Nursing Team including Community Matrons who provide skilled nursing care to housebound patients.

Health Visitors

A Health Visiting Team is also attached to the Surgery giving help and support to families with children under 5 years of age. They offer home visits, developmental assessments, advice on sleep, behavioural and eating problems, support with Post natal depression, Immunisations and a range of other health issues.
